Novy Cellars 2005 Syrah (Santa Lucia Highlands); $27
Absolutly lushious red and racy, bursts out of the glass with blackpepper, cedar and black currants. This California syrah is soft, with sweetly ripe tannins bursting out with blackberry jam, black currants, anise, vanilla and sweet oak flavors. This wine is fully dry, well rounded and virtually perfect. Absolutely first-rate Syrah.
