With a nose of Jasmin and zesty orange that's pure and refined; The palate explodes with flavors of lime, white peach, melon and narcissus. Balanced acids and refined flavor profile that creates a beautiful white wine. The finish is long with spicy citrus fruit to the end.

2007 Snoqualmie Naked Gewürztraminer 90 points

Gewürztraminer, Columbia Valley (WA), $12
Gewürz is a great white wine to pair with ham; the palate opens with juicy flavors of Mandarin orange, guava, lemon drop and Asian spices. With snappy acidity and juicy sweet fruit, makes for a perfect x-mas dinner wine. The finish is clean and refreshing and at 12 bucks you can't beat the price.

Another Chateau Ste. Michelle, another great wine; Lively flavors of tangerine, orange blossom, guava and apricot explode on a broad palate. Tangy and spicy with zippy acids with a lovely balance of citrus and spice. With a zingy kick of sweetness to finish beautiful white, bravo!

2005 Trimbach Gewurztraminer 91 points

Gewurztraminer; France $18
This wine is a perfect compliment for spicy food. Tasty, with a distinct floral nose of rose petals and spice. Broad and mouth-filling palate with notes of pears, peach and Asian spices. The acids are restrained with a note of orange peel on a long finish.

Upland 2006 Gewürztraminer 90 points

(Yakima Valley); Perfect For Christmas Ham
This is a little gem, perfectly capturing the mix of flower, body powder, citrus and stone that only Gewürztraminer can evoke. Graceful and elegant, it spreads evenly across the palate and slides down the back of the throat. The residual sugar—1.8%—puts it squarely in the Alsatian camp. Best Buy
