I got this Bordeaux style white blend as a gift and tried to resist, but now is the time; Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc blend together beautifully with lush intricacy and ripe fruit. Peach, melon, Meyer lemons and creamy key lime fill the palate effortlessly. The result is balanced, harmonious and elegant, great wine and one of my top 20 of the year.

This white blend is very different, fruit and nuts. The palate open up with honey, banana, peach and almonds, that are well integrated and crisp. A creamy mouth-feel with notes of vanilla and acacia flowers finishes off this nice summer white.

Fairly edgy, floral, and friendly, with precise peach, melon, nectarine and other citrus flavors. It's easy drinking personality and good mouth feel, this is what you're looking for in a solid, everyday white wine.

A beautiful Rhône-style white with Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne, which are blended together in this flamboyantly floral and herbal wine. Sweet plum, melon, white pepper and citrus flavors strike the palate with a lush, almost oily impression, yet finish long and crisp. Drink now.

Another great white blend from Isenhower cellars, in 2006 the Roussanne component takes over, relegating the Viognier to 25 percent. Another racy tasty white wine, white pepper, with specks of orange rind and fresh green herb. It’s light for Roussanne, but very refreshing.

Brander’s barrel-fermented, new oaky Sauvignon Blanc. You can taste the creaminess and smokiness imparted by the wood with hints of guava nectar, peach marmalade and grapefruit. With 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon it marries nicely with the grape’s citrus and fig flavors and zippy acids, drink now only 401 cases produced

There's beautiful purity of fruit, with a rich and vibrant beam of tangerine, nectarine and subtle pear tingling. The finish is long and clean with a hint of sage. Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Viognier. Drink now through 2011. 9,000 cases made.

B Cellars 2006 Blend 23 92 points

B Cellars 2006 Blend 23 Sauvignon Blanc-Viogner-Chardonnay (Napa Valley); $28

This wonderfully rich wine combines the best of all three varieties to produce a complex white. It shows rich green apple, pineapple jam, superripe apricot, honeysuckle and smoky oak flavors, and while it’s tremendously honeyed on the finish, it is basically dry. Crisp acidity, probably from the Carneros Chardonnay, provides needed balance.

Right up there with last year’s bottling, this Grenache Blanc-Sauvignon Blanc blend is unoaked, offering pure flavors of terroir-inspired fruit. High acidity backs up the lemongrass, pineapple, peach and honeysuckle flavors that finish so dry and spicy.
